Google Maps went missing

After a routine app update on my HTC one, the google maps icon/shortcut went missing from everywhere. It has gone missing from my app drawer and I can no longer find launchable location. But both the list of installed apps and the play store say the application is already installed.

Any ideas?

Hi Sid, welcome to the forum

Go to the apps list - all apps and go all the way to the bottom of the list which is where disabled apps appear to see if it's there.

Maps app magically became accessible even after uninstalling go launcher.
