Google Maps/Timeline

Has anyone looked at their time lines in maps? I don't recall ever allowing them to record or save this info. Must be in small print somewhere. Very unnerving.....

Yep, it is a little spooky. I viewed mine once after a 2 week work trip in TX using my phone to navigate around almost every day. It was spot on, showed everywhere I had been during that 2 week period... including the flight to TX and home.

Like you said, we can clear it out. But how many people know how to do that? And, also like you said, we probably agreed to this somewhere in some tiny little fine print.

I was just browsing through mine. I can see value in some of it but man the fact that it's all stored at Google somewhere freaks me out.

They are like Santa. They know when you have been naughty or nice.

I try not to worry about it too much and hope that they are not using this data for nefarious purposes. Tracking my location does seem to trigger some cool Opinion Reward surveys; so I make some $$ from Google. I guess that's one positive.

I'm going to leave it and presume, like they say, I'm the only one with the info....

I don't care anymore if Google knows where I go. Im just not that interesting. If I was famous...or a drug dealer...I wouldn't have a Google phone. LOL

I don't use gMaps either, haven't had much luck with it lately and have been using Waze also. The Timeline history however, works amazingly well.

Does Location Timeline rely on using Google Maps or just having your Location service turned On on your phone? I don't always use G Maps but can still see where I have been because I have my Location Settings turned On.
