Google maps/gps locking up my droidx

Ok the gps and google maps used to work great but a couple days ago both apps started locking up when I open them and both cause my phone too reboot. Any one else having the same issues or know how to fix it?

There's a previous thread around here somewhere about this; the latest Maps is definitely causing problems for some people. It's the only app that locks up on my X presently

Try deleting cash and data. If you still have that problem, force close navigation and maps then uninstall them. Reboot the phone then reinstall.

I have definitely been experiencing the exact same issue. For a while it was really bad... I had to stop using Google maps entirely. Then it went away for a while. Then about a week or so ago it came back again - possibly with a recent update. It is an incredibly frustrating problem because it makes a great tool on this great phone useless.
