Going from an iPhone to and Android-- Elizabeth

Hello, my name is Elizabeth. I currently have an iPhone but I'm selling it as I would like a Droid instead. I'm not too tech savvy but I did unlock & jailbreak my iPhone so I'm getting there. That's about it. Also other than technology I like yoga, music, and purses.
Have a great day! (:

Welcome to the Dark Side. :) do you know which Android phone you're getting yet? I'm not very tech savvy either, but this forum is a great resource for info and the people are very nice and helpful!

Well thanks. (: I have absolutely no idea what I'm looking at getting. I posted a thread about it so hopefully I'll get some suggestions.

Welcome.... most high end phones are pretty similar my suggestion is to go into vzw and play and get one that fits ur needs best...the razr And rezound should be at the top of ur list I prefer HTC devices so I would recommended the rezound..

I'm more tempted towards HTC because I like the interface better. But I'd also like to eventually play with hacks and developing, so I don't know if certain phones are better for that or what.

So far I really like the Rhyme, Incredible and Bionic. But I don't know if they can be used with prepaid Verizon so I'll have to do some research. If not I'll probably reach for something more like the Samsung Exhibit.

Welp... If you like some hacking, nobody's mentioned the Samsung Galaxy Nexus--the first phone with Android 4.0 ICS--a developer phone!

The Rhyme looks nice (for being a girl phone). The only problem I see with it is if you like some hacking, I doubt the Rhyme is going to have very many devs working on it.
I've never been a fan of HTC phones, A. Because of battery life. B. because of the Sense overlay.

Here's the three options I'm looking at. (my mind's pretty made up though.)
A. Samsung Galaxy Nexus -- Has good reviews so far. Release date looks to be December 8th. No buttons, they will all be built into the OS. Really good camera.
B. Razr--Thin, aluminum, Kevlar.
C. Rezound-- Beats audio. HTC sense if you like it. (This phone has the best physical specs)

That's kinda the run down... :icon_ lala:

When I came to DroidForums, I probably knew less than all of the then 80,000 members. 90% of what I know now was learned from this amazing forum. If I can learn this stuff, ANYbody can!
As far as hacks go, the dev community will be ALL over the Nexus when it launches...just a thought..

Welcome aboard! Glad you joined us!

Not sure what phones you can use for prepaid, but you might want to check out the new Red Droid Incedible 2 which will be FREE this Friday ONLY!

Welcome to Android! I've been an Android user since the OG Droid and tried to convert to the iPhone 4S and it didn't work out:-P

Well I loved the rezound but the problem is I'm on a budget for buying phones(I have to get a phone and a computer with the money I get from my iphone, so ebays a good friend).. What do you think about the Bionic or the Samsung Exhibit 2?

Also thanks everyone for being so kind. (:
