gMaps and setting Home

I have added my home address under my Google Contact info. I don't see a way to show "My Home" or something like that on gMaps. The Maps hints state you can star a location but when I type in my address it doesnt let me star it.
I know you can do it on GPS units.

On home screen long press for shortcut menu. Go to directions & navigation in list. Will let you setup and name an icon on screen.

MIKEY - could you be a bit more specific - I have tried what you said above - but get no-where - motodroid here. ON which home screen - what list are you referring to - and how to get to the set up for an ''icon''??

You can also tap the menu button from any home screen and hit "Add/Shortcuts/Directions & Navigation."

I am using a Moto-droid - and I don't get any of those choices when I tap the menu button - what am I doing wrong???

I figured it out!! Could not do on my main home screen - had to use one of the side screens as home screen was filled - thank you
