Gmail not receiving emails

I am a new droid x user. I was receiving my emails through the gmail app. I just realized that I have not received any emails for about five days or so on my x. What should I do to re sync my phone? Thanks in advance for re help

settings> accounts> click google >see if sync gmail is checked
