GMAIL Message Grouping Question...

Does anyone know if it is an option to turn off the 'grouping of emails' by contacts? For one reason or another, I'm not a fan of this. I like my email to be listed per email. Is this a setting within Gmail/Android/Not possible...?

Not that I've ever seen. Conversations, as they're called, have been a feature of Gmail since its inception, and one of the things Google loves to promote about Gmail.
