gmail issue

I keep receiving the same email over and over from a friend. Ill delete the email and about 5 minutes later gmail shows I have a new email. The email will only show up after I hit refresh. This has happened for the last 2 days with the same email. Any suggestions?

does it also show up in your web based gmail?
it might be a syncing issue that needs the cache to be erased:
home > menu > settings > applications > manage applications
once there you need to filter to show all apps
menu > filter > all

Then browse down to gmail storage, select it and hit clear data.
