Gmail count wrong

My gmail inbox shows 1 email even with no conversations in it. If there are 2 emails in the inbox, count says 3. And it's only with my default Google account. (I have 4 accounts on my phone.) Anyone else having this problem?

Mine does that on occasion. Usually when there is a message there, but the phone just doesn't want to retrieve it. Usually I can access gmail from a computer, read all unread mail, restart my phone, and it all goes away.

Same here...usually when I log on using a computer its a message that's half way down on the page...

That did the trick (Thank you, Barristro!), but why should I have to go to the computer to clear it? It's kind of annoying, don't you agree? I'd rather just have the Gmail app work properly.
