Gmail app issue

I have a droid 3, rooted running steel droid 3.0, although I unrooted the phone to test, and the problem persisted.
A week or two back my gmail app was force closing constantly, I ended up have to reset my phone using RSDlite, and that seemed to fix the problem, but since then I noticed that whenever I try to send an email or archive an email from my phone, it appears to work but if I log onto my computer and check, there will be no record of the sent mail and the archived email will still be marked as unread and sitting in my inbox. If i send an email from my laptop however, it immediately shows up in the sent mail folder of my phone. I have no idea how to fix this issue, help is much appreciated!

Go to manage applications and on the gmail app Clear Data

Glad it worked out for you. I've found through the years that quite a few app issues can be solved by doing that. I've used it on Gmail, Market, Maps, etc. and it seems to work wonders. In fact I used it today on my wife's Droid 1 market.
