Gingerbread for droid 2

Hey im totally new to this but I heard droid 2 will b getting gingerbread. What I wanna know is if its true or not.

yes the d2 will more than likely be getting it but who knows when, that's up in the air but as soon as it does it will be all over the forum so you will know

March is starting to look accurate. I'm starting to get a little worried as to how easy it will be to root after hearing how no one has been able to root the leaked Droid x system update.

If they find a loophole that allows them to root, motorola can still patch it up before releasing the update. I don't think its because the rom devs in the community can't root it, I just don't think that they would want to.

While that's possible, my understanding is that there are three devs, can't remember names sorry, who are working to root it and aren't able to make progress. I read about it somewhere today.

how was it possible to root the d1 regardless of OS version (see thread with this title) ... ?
is there no similar method available for the d2 ? it's nice that it's as easy as z4root, but when 2.3 is officially available from vzw, it would be a disappointment waiting for it to get rooted before i can confidently allow the update to download on the device ....

is there even a single android phone that is unrootable? If not, then I think it would just take a few more rom developers and a little more time and I'm certain they'll be able to find a loophole somewhere

While you're probably right, its the thought that counts. I'm sick of MOTO going up suck great lengths to lock us out. And to be honest, if anyone could or would make a phone unrootable it would be MOTO.

This may sound dumb to some, but I wonder if rooted Droid 2's (I have the Global one) will get Gingerbread also, assuming it's coming, of course.
