There is no app you can install and hit one button and be rooted, but there are a few methods using simple computer programs and hitting a few keystrokes to get root via micro usb.

To get any custom rom youll need to get cm9 or cm10 which is posted in the development section and Paranoid Android which is a JB based rom has been posted under the same topic as how to get cm9/ cm10.

An easier way to flash clockwork recovery is the app EZ-Recovery from the play store and just flash whatever recovery you would like the use.

Moved to the Galaxy S3 Development forum. :)

Here are two of the main methods for rooting the S3 right now:

1. Flash a pre-rooted version of the stock ROM via Odin.

2. Root the phone while connected to a PC via USB with a tool without flashing via Odin.

While neither are difficult, the second is probably a little bit more simple. That said, if you're not too familiar with rooting and potential issues you could run into, you'll need to familiarize yourself with the flashing process via Odin. It's a lifesaver for Samsung devices.
