Getting mutiple text??

Whats up guys im new to this forum...Got a droid for the holidays...Since downloading the Handcent app for better texting, now i get 2 text at a time. 1 from the original messaging (lil green box w/ a smily face) and 1 from the Handcent app. Cant figure out how to get rid of the original messaging and run only Handcent. If anyone can help that would kick ass!!!

Go into your default app settings and turn off notifications. That will stop the test from showing up there. You will also hear from others that you can turn off Auto-Retrieve on your default messenger and no messages will come there at all but it never worked for me. Handcent seems like a good app but I could never get it to work right. I would like to use it but but constant double text gets on my nerves to bad.
