getting cursor in between letters

Is there anyway to make this easier maybe something similar to the zoom and slide across on the ipod.

The touch is pretty easy sometimes i guess i wish i could be more accurate

there is an edit menu with a virtual d-pad (more or less) in Swype. i highly recommend using that as your text input for the virtual keyboard.

I'm pretty good at doing it with the touch pad, but I've used android's touch keyboard since the G1 got the update that included it.

If I find myself having an issue though, I just slide out the keyboard and use the d-pad (pretty much the only time I use the physical keyboard...). Not very handy if you're trying to use the phone in landscape, but its better than nothing if you don't want to download software not available in the market like swype, or don't feel a need to change the keyboard. The latter is where I stand.
