As you might imagine the phone requires a new 2-year contract. You might also imagine that it is only good for one day — Friday, October 22.

So head on over to Best Buy tomorrow or simply order via the website.

I only paid $10 free shipping no rebates as a new customer for mine. The deals are out there if you look for them.

They can't do upgrade customers. I tried the first week of the program. Verizon has prevented Best Buy's system from doing early upgrades for customers. :(
The only option would be to get a new line & cancel your existing line and pay whatever early termination fee you owe.

I'm still contemplating, but I'm not certain how worthwhile it is with the math.
My situation is this.

Early termination fee = $150
Return restocking fee for the Fascinate I just purchased = $30
New line & activation of new line = $30
New "free" Fascinate on new line = $0
Total cost to get a "free" Fascinate = $210

vs.

New Fascinate with early upgrade = $299
Early upgrade rebate = -$100
Early upgrade fee = $20
Total cost for early upgrade Fascinate = $219

So basically, I save $9 but i'm stuck with a new phone number that I have to distribute to EVERYONE I know basically...a number i've had for going on 10 years now.

Someone please double check this information, but I believe you are not able to do an early upgrade via bestbuy.com.

Verizon allows you to upgrade 2 months before your actual renewal date, however, I think this is only allowed at Verizon stores or on vzw.com and not through third parties like best buy.

Wha. I just bought one for my wife 2 days ago at BB for 150.....

Think they'll help me out on this if I take it back?

I was 3 days away from my contract date and BB called verizon and they moved up the date so i got me a new FREE Samsung Fascinate phone. lots of learning to do here.

3 days away is not the same thing as an early upgrade.
Early upgrade is when Verizon offers you a new phone at the discounted price when you've fulfilled the first 12-14 months of your 2 year contract. Best Buy can not honor this early upgrade discount. Nor can Amazon, or any other retailer besides Verizon.

Maybe they will price match themselves within 30 days. I remember those old commercials... I bout this and then I saw this, just opened the paper and there it was!

My wife and I both got our Fascinates for free at Best Buy on October 1st and we both used our upgrade. Not sure who told you that you couldn't get the free phone at Best Buy using your upgrade but we both did and our bill was $0.00.

Did you get an EARLY upgrade or just an upgrade?
I'm referring to early upgrades. Upgrades that you are eligible for with Verizon when you have more than 11-months remaining on your contract. I'm not talking about regular new-every 2 upgrades. I went to 3 different Best Buys and got the same reply at each. I also tried 2 times on Wirefly and 1 time on Amazon.com. I've been on Verizon for 8 years.
