Get a grip...

Hello all!

Got interested in this site when it helped me fix a glitch in my Droid X2 that almost got it kicked down the road for a few miles... Anywho. I'm not so technologically ignorant that I can't make it do some of the things that I want it to...but I have found a need for more knowledge of my phone so it's time to get a grip.

What the heck is "rooting"?
Is it necessary?
How can I get screen shots (I'm going to need them for court purposes unfortunately)?


If you are going to answer, please break it down Barney-style for me. I'm in no way unintelligent, but I AM new to the terminology.

Welcome to the forum. One of the things I strongly suggest, is read read and read some more. Rooting isn't for everyone and u don't need to root to customize ur device. But if u are, be sure to have a backup and know how to sbf in case something goes wrong. Here are a few links u may wanna start off with. And btw just remember SEARCH is ur friend
