Genie widget delete

Hey, quick question. I was browsing through my sd card with astro and came across a folder named Android. Well the only thing in it was something called geniewidget or something. So I deleted it because I didn't know what it was. Anyone have an idea as to what this was? And if I should've deleted it?

Its stored data for the news and weather app. Stuff like your location info and whatnot for that app.
