I gave my old X2 to my granddaughter who is not allowed to connect to the internet. Is it possible to download games from Play Store to my iMac and transfer them to the X2?

To answer your question you can't directly get them from the Play Store. You would have to download APKs on your iMac then transfer them to your grandaughter's phone. There are several markets that do this but to respect the rules of this forum it would be up to you to give a good search around to find what best fits you. Lets just say there are 'less that reputable' APK markets out there.

A good alternative may be the use of parental controls for the internet and the Play Store.

Or use WiFi to download the games to the device.. And then lock it down(WiFi password) and then hand the device back to her?

Her parents can push the apps over to her phone through any browser using the Google Play store within the browser. All they have to do is login with her Google account on the computer.
