Galaxy S5; Completely Broken Screen - Needs FDR!

Okay guys, if this has already been answered then I apologize in advance and please direct me to it. My screen (digitizer, LCD, everything) is broken. Nothing at all works. I had a pattern passcode set. Instead of getting the screen fixed, I just got a new s5; however, the problem is, I wouldn't mind selling this one to make a little extra cash, but I don't want someone else to have all of my information and not even be able to use the phone (because of unlock code) once they fix the screen. So, does anyone know at least how I can get into the phone to use Kies to FDR or am I just totally out of luck? Thanks!

If you replaced it via your warranty, they'll take care of that for you so no worries there. Or did you simply buy a new one and are keeping the old one.....which I assume is not under any contracts?

Do you have an MHL cable and a Bluetooth keyboard?

Edit: actually if it is a pin code it would have to be a mouse with an OTG cable to unlock it.

So, with the MHL cable, how could I proceed with actually unlocking the screen lol AND if I can do that, where do I find this MHL cable? Same as HDMI cable?

Ok. This is a non visual way to reset the device. Pull the battery out and wait 10 seconds. Replace the battery, then "Hold" the Home key, Volume Up, and press and release power. Keep holding the other buttons for a 30 count. Then release. There should be a small vibration to let you know it powered up.

Push carefully down three times on the volume down button. Then press the power button.

Next press down 7 times on the volume down button. Press the power button. Phone will reset. Wait two mins when complete, then press the power button. Device will vibrate and start up. If phone doesn't vibrate or make a sound. Repeat the steps. ;)

I was also just going to trace the steps and post them. Just because you can't see the screen doesn't mean you can't clear all in recovery lol!
