Frustrated with AOSP

I much prefer AOSP over Sense. I have tried the following AOSP ROMS: Liquid Thunderbread, CM7 and ShiftTheory. All have random data drop. The 3G signal just randomly drops, comes back usually without reboot but kills tethering. I didn't experience this on any Sense ROMS, so as much as I dislike Sense, I might be going back. I've tried various radios and kernels but the problem persists. Wrecked my online fantasy football draft last night.

Has anyone found a fix for this? Or point me to a ROM that is known for not having this issue? Extremely frustrating!!!

I never had good luck tethering with my DroidX. The connection would drop after about 5-10 megs of download use. Never had an issue with using 3G or wifi on my phone though. My wife hasn't had any 3G issues on her TB, but has never tethered. If anything, just put ADW or LauncherPro on your phone so hide Sense and go from there.

I am using the das bamf mini rom with no problems at all. By far the best aosp rom I have used.
