Foxfi paid version causing Razr Maxx to go into active hibernation after 3-5 min?

I've been using FoxFi for months with no problem, but as soon as I paid for it to get the key so that it wouldn't keep kicking my connection every 50MB, now the connection works great, but after about 3-5 minutes it sends my phone into this weird state that I've never seen before. It starts to sound like it's going to shut down, but then it stops where my screen only displays the droid logo/red ball with electricity and doesn't move from there. It's not completely frozen b/c FoxFi continues to work, but I can't make/receive phone calls or texts or do anything else with the phone. The only way to get out of it is to do a simulated battery pull, but then I have to re-start FoxFi and then the whole cycle starts again.

Anyone else have anything like this happen?
