Just made the switch, I'm about a week new to droid. Only miss my old theme on the BB cos it showed the first line of messages, calendar and missed calls. Is there something for droid like that? Thanks to all you nice folks in advance from the xbb guy.

Welcome aboard, dovantes! Not sure about your question, but there are some other recovering BB addicts here that may have a suggestion or two for you. Here's a great thread on app recommendations. Maybe this will be of some help. Enjoy your new toy!

Pure messenging widget works. Personally, I use the combo of handcent and the messenging widget.

Coming from Blackberry Curve and Tour to Droid. After the 1 week adjustment, I haven't looked back.
