Format SD via phone

Has anyone formatted their SD card using the phone? I'm moving all my apps to the phone and want to clear off my card. Anything besides pictures I need to save first?

i did it once a long time ago. backup personal stuf, the rest will get slowly rebuilt by whatever put it there in the first place. so yeah i guess just photo's and videos and songs and that type of media.
