forgot screen lock pattern help!!!!!

is there anyway to reset phone screen lock i used the pattern lock, now i dont remember what it was is there anyway to bypass or reset it

If u just do a bunch of wrong patterns enough times I believe it'll let u bypass it by having u sign in with ur gmail account

it lets me do 4 trys then makes me wait 30 secs before i can try again it isnt going to a gmail sign in page

I gave my phone to someone to play with
lockscreen and it made me login to my gmail
After theyy had unsuccessfully played with it too long

That does no good with a locked device.....
