Follow Me on Map

I know this has been talked about, but I can't find it any longer. How can I set the map to follow me as I drive around without the screen turning off and without me having the change the screen to always stay on? When I'm using the nav to go to a specific location it stays on, but I just want it to stay on and follow me without a specific location.

Thanks

To get mine to stay on I have to plug in the car charger. For the map follow feature without a navigation destination: when you open Google Maps, hit the MENU button, then tap on MY LOCATION.

Download a free app called setting profiles. You can set it so when you have your phone in the car dock the screen never goes off, along with many other settings.

I'll need to test this out with a car charger but I think my screen still goes black after hitting My Location.

An app to keep the screen on (there are several options) would definitely do the trick though.

is there just a 1x1 widget that i can click on and off that will change the setting for the screen timer when plugged in to always on/off? I'm thinking that's the only way that you are able to keep it always on when you plug it into the car, but I don't want it always on when plugged into the wall so i'd like to be able to easily toggle this.

Thanks

EDIT: I found a widget called screen on that seems to do the trick. I guess I'll just go that route. Thanks for the suggestions.

You know I would like this as well. I would like the actual navigation screen to just follow me without me having to put in an address to navigate too. Similar to the other units like Garmin you can simply have it display your location but it's sort of the close street level view with the roads ahead as well.

it would also be a really cool feature if goog nav could include speed limits, and your current speed, similar to Garmin units.
