If you make a backup of Squidly's ROM, that backup will be of that ROM and the settings you chose to use while you used it.

If you flash a different ROM, and decide you don't like it, then you would restore with the Nandroid BackUp that had Squidly's on it and that phone would be restored to the state right before you made the Nandroid BackUp.

EDIT - Also, if you haven't made a Nandroid backup of your phone when it was STOCK, then I would do that before flashing ROMs. I know this wasn't included in the question, but since it was Nandroid related I figured I'd go ahead and throw it in there..

Cheers!

Yep Nandroid backups are fantastic. I suggest that if you switch that you wipe data and cache before you restore.

It provides a clean slate for any new rom by removing the old one. Often, if you do not wipe data and cache you will have forced closed and perhaps get stuck in a boot loop.

That has nothing to do with switching roms. The process you described bypasses the welcome and activation process. This is a very sensitive topic so that is all I will say.

Just leave it at sensitive topic. Its nothing you need to worry about and i'm pretty sure it doesn't work on the d2 anyway.

The search button is there for a reason, but I suppose I can help you out since I have quite a bit of time to kill..

Assuming you already have the ROM you want on the ROOT of your SD CARD.

1. Open D2 Bootstrapper
2. Bootstrap Recovery
3. Reboot Recovery
4. Mount System/Data
5. Wipe Data/Cache
6. Install zip from SD Card
7. Choose zip to Install
8. Select the Custom ROM
9. Yes. Install
Wait for installation to complete.
10. Reboot system
