Flashing old Nandroid back-up

Let's say that the big 4.0.4 update rolls out today, in theory of course. I would like to flash back to stock completely and try it out. I'll probably eventually re-root. Will it be possible to restore my GummyNex nandroid backup to the phone or should I start fresh again?

Pretty sure you could just restore the nandroid but double check with the devs plus who knows when the ota will release for this phone
