The good news is that the US variants of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are now rooted! The bad news is that this is one of the sloppiest roots ever. The root method utilizes an Engineering Bootloader. The EngBoot leaked from Samsung is made specifically for testing and firmware bring up. It is not a final stable bootloader. As such using the Engineering Bootloader often means dealing with subpar performance, lag, battery drain, force closes and other issues. This method also utilizes a beta unsupported version of SuperSU by Chainfire. As such you will not be able to update SuperSU via the Play Store.

Luckily enough the issues caused by running the EngBoot are mostly fixable. First of all be sure you are on the PD8 version most issues were encountered on the PD6 version of Touchwiz. You can simply flash the PD8 file via Odin prior to rooting. Once you are rooted download an app called "Kernel Adiutor" and change the CPU Governor to Ondemand. Be sure to set the changes to happen on boot. In the same app increase cpu max frequency to the max allowed and minimum frequency to the minimum allowed. You can go a step further and disable the Knox package and any carrier packages through an app like Titanium backup. Once these changes are made your phone should begin to run as normal.
