The New Nexus 7 has to be one of the greatest 7" tablets ever! It has an awesome full HD display, and is super fast. It has the perfect form factor for reading, gaming, and all kinds of content consumption. There have been virtually no problems to speak of out of this device other than the one pesky issue that has come up for a handful of users. There has been a multitouch bug that has plagued this device. Google tried to resolve this issue with an ota update which happened to break other parts of the operating system without truely fixing the main issue. Developer "sfhub" has created a resolution for this issue that will solve the problem for 75% of users that are experiencing it. You will need to have an unlocked bootloader and know your way around adb. This is still a pretty straight forward method. You can find all the files you need and instructions for fixing the multitouch issue at the source link below.

Forgive the contrarian comment but: this might be yesterday's news -- the OP at xda was posted before the "fix" went out by Asus/Google, and there doesn't seem to be much indication in the OP that there were subsequent updates to sfhub's patch. I only skimmed the first few pages of the thread though (50+ pages), so maybe there's more recent information. To add insult to injury, the "purported 75%" seems to come from sfhub's own optimistic forecast. I think the source of that number is:

xda-developers - View Single Post - Take that multi-touch! Fix and lock in what works for YOU regardless of updates

The goal is to make 70-80% of the problem units usable (again), but even if only 50% become usable this is an improvement over the current situation.

Finally -- although it's clear that sfhub has gone the distance to make his work accessible -- I got the impression he was unusually vague about how the patch works. After several requests for details in the first few posts, he replied with:

xda-developers - View Single Post - Take that multi-touch! Fix and lock in what works for YOU regardless of updates

It is the touchscreen controller software.

Perhaps he is concerned about others modifying the code?
