First thing to do after Root on Droid 2?

Hey, I'm currently in the process of getting all the pieces together to root my D2 using the one-click method. Is there anything I need to do immediately before/after the process to prevent loss of data or to save some sort of backup of my phone in case something should happen to it?

Can the D2 be over/underclocked yet like the D1?

Yes - get SetCPU from the market (might also be available from XDA or another source, not sure) and you can set profiles in it to underclock when the screen is off, battery is low, temp is high, etc.

Also get Droid Root Explorer if you don't already have it, a must-have app for a rooted phone.

Though note in regards to overclocking you can only tune up the minimum value, true overclocking is not yet available. I recall seeing a Droid X overclock somewhere but it was not done in any kind of reproducible, user friendly way. We are going to have to wait until the bootloader is cracked in order to load true overclock kernels.

That's right...I didn't notice he said "over/under" - I only saw the "under" part. No OC on the D2 (yet). :)

Underclock is mainly what I'm firing for currently (battery life) so the setCPU answer was sufficient. Also, I found setCPU available free at xda in all released versions (or at least a half dozen). Thanks for the help, all.
