Find Droid that has no internet service

Is it possible to find an android phone using only its GPS. It seems every phone locator require the phone to have internet service to find it's location. Is there a way for me to track my lost phone that has NO internet service. It is a deactivated phone that is used to just play games music etc.... Maybe someone could suggest an app, if there is one. "Lookout security" works great, but only when the wifi is on and the phone has network service. thanks

I could be wrong but the gps is a one way service. Even gps systems like the ones on my work trucks require a cell antenna to upload data to the Web service.

Agreed. GPS by itself just means that devices pick up location or other data from other sources (satellites, conventionally); it's one-way.
