how can you tell who is online and if you want to send them a private instant message are u able to do that. i d/l bloo but didnt really like it

I do not use FB so I'm unable to advise you about apps. I imagine there must be several to select from so open the market and search "Face Book" You can download as many as you like so you can try. Once you find one that meets your needs uninstall the others.

private instant message? you mean chat? you need a chat client for that because I dont think any of the FB apps have chat yet - try Meebo IM
