Facebook Sucks

I used it for a while and also got sick of it. What I didn't understand was when people from high school that I never associated with then wanted to add me as a friend. And as stated before, the people I truly wanted to stay in touch with, I have other means of doing so.

I work in IT and we blocked FB at work after it started causing people to catch nasty malware from the apps. Like they should be going to FB on company time anyway...

I only really hung out with 5-6 people in high school, and I too, got too many people wanting to add me because they'd heard my name somewhere.

Plus, I caught myself checking it constantly. I mean, more than 10 times a day.

Facebook use to be cool when it was just for college students. When they opened up to the public, the crap set in...as is usual. Especially all the crappy games...

Okay, this is a bit much...

My apartment complex just asked to be friends on Facebook.

REALLY??!

They should set up their own page or a group instead. That way they
could share important information (if there is any) without everyone being able to see each other's info. It would also allow a single hide or unlike for those who decide it wasn't such a great idea later.

Organizations of all kinds are using it in place of hosting their own website, plus the potential customers are a click away...no need to do the heavy lifting.

It's evolved into a better business marketing tool than a simple way to keep in touch. But, like tp76 mentioned it's easy to either not add people or remove them or hide their posts.

Controversial privacy terms? << Then again why would I know anything about that, I never bother to read ToS's. They bore me to death and they're looooong. D=

If you don't like it then don't use it.

You'll be left behind the rest of the civilized World, but c'est la vie.

That's what many said about MySpace and look how that's doing.

I don't think these social networking sites are really all that pivotal in life. I'm sure there are many more people that don't use them than you'd think and I'm sure they are getting along fine. Heck, I haven't been on there in months and I don't think I'm missing anything.

I keep getting comments like that from folks when they ask why I have refused to make a facebook all these years. I just usually throw my rotary dial telephone at them.

I thought about it briefly after getting the droid, but I'm still resisting. Meh.

It depends on the person. I know people who are absolutely hooked on MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, etc. But then there's people like me. Every single friend I have on my Facebook is someone I know in real life, family, friend, etc. So for me it's more like a casual keep in contact with the family and friends thing. You just have to try it and see how it works for you.

Facebook is awesome!

There is this thing called account and changing settings so you don't get email and invites and crap from people. All I get is the little world on top that shows my notifications. And only thing that notifies me are what people do to my statuses or others that I put action on, or my pictures of course too.

I got rid of al that other crap though hat would notify me, now it's good. Want to see whats ruined, go to myspace, it's freaking black instead of blue now and totally ruined.

Tom Anderson sold it when he did lol
But if he didn't sell it, it might of never went bad.

Well it's definitely awesome for keeping in contact with friends and family since everyone seems to have it. Even my dad has a Facebook, which is saying something.
