facebook notifications

Is there any way to tell if you have a Facebook notification from the home screen without having to open up the app? I used to have a blackberry and it always let me know. Please help.

That's a glitch in the Facebook app. Apparently, Facebook would rather support BlackBerry and Apple, as compared to the fastest growing mobile platform on the planet.

I signed up for FB using my phone number instead of an email address, so it used to send me texts for notifications. But this seems to have stopped working sometime within the past month or so. And like you said, the FB app is no help either. Somewhat irritating.

What if you get the notifications as emails then you can go into the app to reply?
The app does suck. The notifications come when they want. I use the touch.facebook.com site.

I only seem to get a notification if I get a message on Facebook, which is the flashing blue LED (I set the notification sound to silent).

Setting up your email notification is the best your going to get for facebook notifications. It sucks but thanks to facebook it is what it is. Bloo use to be a great app for FB but the dev abandoned the app, it use to do notifications and worked really well.

I was bummed when I read this and saw no one else was getting notifications. I recall receiving at notification on my Droid only once from Facebook. I wish there was a surefire way to see them..

I turned the notifications off and changed the email on my fb account to my Gmail. Works great!

DroidForums junkie!!

I have my set up on my Droid and I get all my notifications there. I just use the app to look at status updates and upcoming events, but for everything else I check using m.Facebook.com

The Facebook for Android client supports notifications for friend requests, event invites, and facebook messages. It doesn't notify you if someone replies to a status, or anything like that.
