Facebook Apps

Is there any other better Facebook app other than the "Facebook for Android" app? Or is there some way I can access more features? I feel like the Facebook app leaves some to be desired. E.G. can I send friend requests/lookup people somehow? Also, it never seems to notify me of anything, even after I set up my notifications to do so. I always log onto the computer and get a bunch of notifications that my phone didn't receive. Thanks.

Haven't found one that gives you the chance to find new people, but if you want solid notifications, you need bloo. Here's some more info...
