Extra fees for MMS?

I attatched a picture in a message today in the standard messaging app and when it completed it said something along the lines of extra fees may apply. I have the unlimited verizon-verizon sms, mms, flix etc plan with 500 to other carriers. will there be any extra fees? Im new to smart phones and on my voyager there wasnt any.

Extra fees = international SMS/MMS. $.20 per.

That is where the word "may" comes in. It is a standard message.

Is this true across all text messaging plans, or just the unlimited one, in that extra fees for sms/mms is only limited to international texting?
