exporting Contacts

Hello All. I am upgrading from a Droid2 Globe to a Moto G 3gen. I have tried to export contacts into the Moto without any luck. I get photos, etc all except contacts. Any help would be appreciated.

Are your contacts saved to your G Mail / Google account? If they are, they will automatically sync with the new phone when you select the option in the new phone Contacts app.

Thanks for responding. For some reason there was only two contacts from google. They did transfer. My droid2 globe has over 100 contacts that didn't show up on google.
I also tried migrate with WiFi and bluetooth...no luck. I have a SD card in the Droid2 but it doesn't show up when connected to my computer.

If you don't mind them being listed as a Google contact (some people don't like that & that's OK) you can try this. Open the Contacts app on your old phone > select menu > Import/Export > Export To Storage > The phone should display the file path where it will save the file (storage/emulated/00001.vcf, etc.) Find that file and get it onto your PC; either e-mail it to yourself, send it to your Drive account, connect your phone to your PC and copy it, etc. Once you have the .VCF file on your PC log into your G mail account and select Contacts under the G mail option > Select More > Import. Browse to the .VCF file and import that list. Once imported the Contact feature online has a Merge & Fix Duplicates option. Run that to merge all dups and they will always be backed up & saved to your Google account. Then, on any new phone you buy > Open Contacts > Menu > Contacts To Display > Your Google Account and they will auto sync. Once your contacts are all saved as a Google contact and any new ones created are created under that group, you will never have to mess with exporting, importing, copying, wondering how to get them on your new phone again. Hopefully that helps.
