Exchange Sync - Fail

Tried setting up an Exchange Sync on a new Razr for a user. After setting it up Contacts, Calendar both did sync and user can send email HOWEVER the Inbox shows empty and they cannot see any of the dozens of Folders they use. I tried K9 which just failed to setup at all and then Touchdown. Touchdown finally did sync but took at least 5 times of going in and out, playing with settings and so forth. User was able to see their All Folders, Unread and send email in Touchdown.

First off I DO NOT want Touchdown on this device. I support a host of devices and I am not going to support a one off user using a third party app and have to remember each screen for that app when they call for help. Second off the user has already screwed up Touchdown and called this morning saying they can only see "All Folders" and can't switch to Inbox and see no email, case in point of why I don't want Touchdown installed.

Second off any ideas on why the stock client won't or wouldn't work? I setup a test user on Exchange and setup the Razr stock to use it and everything was as it should be, sync, send, etc. Removed that account and went back to the user's account and again we do not see the Folder list, no new messages including ones we send but we are sending and have contacts and so forth. The user has tons of folders, all off the root of their mailbox, not under the Inbox. There are no access issues as OMA/OWA work plus as I said Touchdown did work.

I'm steps from telling the user to take the Razr back and get an iPhone as they do not fully grasp the Android interface, they were a BB user.

OK so had to touch this device again today and have a better understanding of Touchdown and still don't like it. First off to sync Contacts and Calendar you have to go into Settings, Choose Folders and select Contacts and Calendar, sorry but that seems lame to me, should be done by default. Second I found how to get the app to start in email on launch, again I'm of the opinion that should be default but if you go back to the main screen it shows you a list of unread email from just the past 24 hours, this is confusing for basic users IMHO. I personally don't care for the mini text window it views emaithread i in either, you must open the email to view.

All that aside I tried to setup the stock corp sync again. It setup but after 15 mins of trying to sync it did a force close. This must be an issue with the number of folders.

Any suggestion from another phone on Verizon that will provide a novice user with a better experience other than an iPhone?

Nice thing about Touchdown is that it doesn't lock down your entire phone. I hate entering pass codes whenever I wake the phone up. I also like the widgets so you can see the incoming email but don't have to open it. And many of your market calendar apps and widgets integrates Touchdown appointments. It's a great though expensive app Imo.
