Entire messages not sending

By the title I meant only part isn't sending, not the whole message. I've been texting someone who also has an HTC phone (I have the Thunderbolt) and I always only get the first part of his messages. He has to resend it like 3 or 4 times and it really ruins a conversation! Any fix to this?

try text again in a stable network place, if still happens like that, call the local operator
