Engadget reviews the Motorola Droid X

Ok while I really wanted a bigger screen, I have to say this borders on too big. Screen size would be great for GPS purposes, but I think it may be a little to big to comfortably handle one-handed. Not gonna make a decision until I can actually get it hand. But it is looking like I may pass due to size.

I feel the same way. I want a phone with a bigger screen for gps navigation but this seems just a little bit too big. I'll have to handle both the Xtreme and the Droid 2 before I make a decision.

BTW, first post on the forums. :)

Front camera or not, I am paying full retail and selling my Droid :D!!!

4.4" screen? hell yeah! I am 6'2 and this would be perfect in my hands.
Same here. I'm 6'3 and I just held the HTC EVO the other day and it was a very nice feeling holding a phone of that size in my hand. To each his/her own though.
I will definitely pay full retail for this phone when it comes out. Then I can just switch between it and my Droid if necessary. Hopefully rooting won't be far behind with this phone.
My Droid hasn't let me down yet, but it will be nice to do a little fishing in the sea with some new gadgets :)

I am 6'6" and would love to have a big phone, but full retail, ouch.

I need to find a way to have verizon let me upgrade early or something.

Ideas???LOL

I have brown hair and I would love a bigger phone..

Anyway, I wish we could get that Moto Blur off of that phone..

I announced it right here in this forum that I was ditching the Droid and moving on to the EVO. I cancelled my order and got my money back JUST FOR THIS PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Cannot wait. I will be in front of Verizon with the rest of the nerds, waiting to get mines!!

Also...I dont care about motoblur. Blur isnt that bad and this phone is going to have a different version anyway so the blur issue (even if i did hate it) still wouldnt have stopped me from making the change.

But what about a front facing camera and 4g??

Dont worry about 4G, u cant really take advantage of it now. By the time u can, the EVO will probably be $100.

But no front facing camera, after the iPhone 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S has it....

hmmmm

^ lol exactly

Why is everyone stressing so hard on a front facing camera. Like it makes the phone or not.

Because since Apple is doing it, it will now become the "next big thing." It may not be a big deal to not have one right now, but a year from now, they will probably be commonplace among high-end smartphones. Heck, even the EVO (this phone's most direct competitor) has one. The point is that there isn't a very good reason for a phone this large and powerful to NOT have one. If you don't like it or don't see the point don't use it. It won't add that much to the cost of the phone.

Exactly the point I was getting at by mentioning both the iPhone and the EVO.
