I like the feature of the email default app using Yahoo. I just don't like the app pic. Do I have to stop using it, and download the yahoo mail app? This one is dark. Yahoo mail mobile email isn't.

If I understand your issue you may want to try a different mail client like MailDroid or K-9 as they are both better than the default mail client and highly configurable. They. imo, also beat the Yahoo client app in functionality.
