Email message count off

I use the Email App to tell me if I have any new emails when I'm not using my AOL Mail App. However, for my AOL account saved in the email app, it always shows that I have 1 more new emails unread than I actually have. I could have all old emails, yet it still shows that I have a new email.

Is something going on?

one to many apps is my guess. they already tring to get the same information and refresh rates vary.
for my aol mail i just use the standard email app and never have this problem

I don't know why my AOL App would be interfering with my Email App. My AOL App is hardly ever signed in. But I will give it a shot.
