Email and Other Alerts

OK...new to the Droid Lineup. I came from a BB Tour.

I have been looking/searching and have not been able to find any way to solve this issue....but....

The vibrate function on this phone sucks! (insert joke here :)

My phone needs to be on vibrate the majority of the day, and I have no ideal when any emails coming in...I mean...it is really short and weak (again...more jokes :)

I installed SMS Popup to adjust the vibration alerts for texts, but nothing for email and any other notifications.

Does anybody have any apps or other solutions to solve this issue?

Thanks!

Same problem

I have the same issue. Previously I had a blackberry 8830 and then a curve. I liked how the blackberries vibrated when email came in. I can't seem to get my Pro to do this. Any insight would be appreciated.

Dont have a Pro yet... but this is the way its on my DINC with 2.2

If I remember correctly (its been awhile since I have had a BB), notification settings on Blackberrys are all set in Profiles i.e. Normal, Loud, Silent etc etc.

Android is different. They are scattered about the OS. There are notification settings in Menu/Settings/Sound which set your default sound.

Email/Gmail/Facebook app have their own notification settings that can be accessed within the app itself.

Kinda weird... especially coming from a Blackberry.

Thanks to some other helpful folks I just got this working on my phone. Go to Messaging and then select one of your email accounts. Click the menu button and then the Email Settings option. Choose Notifications. You'll be in the Notifications screen, so make sure the top Notifications item is checked, and then also check the box for vibrate down at the bottom. This should take care of it for you.
