EC09 with Froyo ROMS/Kernels?

Has anyone tried and or had any success with using the EC09 Radio with any of the Froyo ROMS/Kernels?
I ODINed the EC09 Radio and flash the Nameless ROM but the didn't like the performance. The Quadrant benchmark is actually much slower.
I read on XDA some peeps were able to user the EC09 Radio with Rom Com and got good results, apparently EC09 Radio gets better GPS and stronger Bars

Its is better in my experience also...running ec09 radio on comm. Rom 2.1

Everything downloaded fine but my phone got stuck on the page with the gem loading. :icon_eek:

When I flash the latest Com Rom. I gets hung at the "Android" start up screen. I will try 2.1 and see what happens

Vinnie, can you post a link to the actual froyo rom that works with EC09? I've tried 3 or 4 and they all don;t work. Commrom 2.1 seems to be an patch to 2.0 so you need 2.0 first I would assume. But which 2.1? With or with Kernel?

Installing Com Rom
1. download rom version of your choice
2. move to your sdcard
3. boot into cwr (3.0 preferred..should work with 2.5 but edify scripts can be nasty with it sometimes..testers say it worked though)
4. wipe data/cache/davlik cache (if you dont, expect issues...and also dont bother bug reporting..we wont help you!)
5. select install from sdcard
6. select rom .zip
7. reboot
8. wait 5+ minutes for phone to boot up (it takes awhile)
9. profit (or not if it bootloops)

Flash this first
UKB 2.0 with OTB 1.5 Voodoo Kernel

Fully reboot......

Then flash this (2.1 PATCH DOES NOT INCLUDE KERNEL IT KEEPS SAME 1.5 VOODOO OTB FROM 2.0)
Com Rom (froyo) 2.1 (patch, must flash on top of 2.0, no need to wipe): http://www.multiupload.com/7Q8BWG8NWN

With that you will be running latest comm. rom with 1.5 OTB kernel

OR

Full Roms (no kernel)
UKB 2.0

and then in same recovery session flash this kernel

OTB-Reloaded TouchWiz ver 1.6 - This will probably be final froyo tw kernel released by me unless there is a big problem that needs to be fixed with this kernel. Known issue if you try to wipe data in recovery it will hang on trying to format .android_secure requiring battery pull. Wipe completes, but issue is a problem for you odin different recovery.

Then fully reboot and then back to recovery to flash 2.1 patch which includes no kernel so you will remain with 1.6 OTB you just flashed previously

I personally see no diff. between ED04 and EC09

Thanks Vinnie, but that doesn't work.

I had to ODIN the ROMM.COM 2.0 with "CR20_NOMODEM_NUTS_SHARK.tar"
and now it works and I get none of the force closes with Movies or Yelp.
According to the About Phone settings I still have the EC09 Radio. I will admit the EC09 Radio greatly improves my GPS.
