This is not my app but passing along info for someone who hasn't noticed yet. There's an app on the market called Easy Root. Its to root your phone quickly without computer or anything else. Haven't tried my self since already rooted but it says its been tested on Droid. Just little info for noobs and people without computer access. Give it a look!

I just got my Droid X today. What IS "ROOTING"??

Take a look at http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...-between-rom-rooting-hacking-bootloading.html for some info. Basically, you get to the "root" of the operating system of the phone and can make all sorts of changes and customizations.

I found out about this app on the http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...lick-root-droid-1-droid-x-works-intended.html thread and like MrC1122 said, got it from their site.
