Easier access to music

I recently downloaded over 600 songs from my PC to my Droid 4's SD card. However now that they're there, is there an easier way to access them OTHER than going into Root Explorer/SD card/music? Is there a way to make a shortcut on my home screen? Thanks.

I also have this issue. It was not a problem in GB, i only had this issue on the ICS leaks. Around the same time I also upgraded my SD card from a 16G to a 32G. So I have been unable to pinpoint the problem, and so I have been unable to fix it.

However, the above comment is an interesting thought. My music is in "Music" and i wonder if there is a hard coded "music" in lowercase. I would be very surprised if that is the case. It ought to look in all directories recursively. I will see what I can find. Will you do me a favor and put some pictures on your external SD card as well? I have mine in "DCIM" and I would like to see if your gallery can see them. All of my galleries, except Quickpic dont see anything on the sdcard, whereas Quickpic does.

let me know.

I didn't think I would, but no luck on changing the case on Music to music. I am going to put these same files on a different SDcard. I am still curious about aloha52 being able to see pictures on the sdcard.

I just checked and I have my "Music" folder first letter capitalized, I have a "dcim" folder with a "Camera" folder inside, a "Ringtones" folder, even a "My Pictures" folder and few other things that are all seen by the stock apps. I am running a 64GB card too. Under storage settings you can opt at anytime to move stuff from the internal to external.

What do you mean, an easier way to access them? In terms of being able to handle the raw files to move/delete, or just seeing them with applications?

The Droid 4 will see music media files (mp3, m4a, wav, etc..) in any folder whether it is in internal or external (SDcard) memory.

If it comes down to being able to move/rename/delete files directly, you will need a file editor to perform that function. However, Google Play Music gives you the ability to directly delete a track fromt he SD by tap-holding an artist, album, or song in its list.

If you are looking for a media player that will show you every single file, I personally recommend the $3.99 "UberMusic" by Federico Carnales. If you are looking for a free app, Google Play Music is very nice as well.

This seems to be a limited problem. Aloha52, are you on an ics rom? I am on leak 206.

I am using a class 10 sdcard 32G.
