DX as skype cam

Any devs out there that can help me out? Here's my idea: hook up my DX to my tv using hdmi and use phone as a webcam to skype. Is this even possible? The app would have to include a standalone skype app or something to be able to use it without a computer. I know the hdmi is generally only usable for gallery pics and vids... Anyway, if anyone thinks this is possible and is willing to develop it, that would be awesome. My DX is rooted, if that helps.
