Dust Under Screen :(

So, I am not a stickler, and I don't care that much, BUT I did notice today some dust under my Droid screen.

I have no case or screen protector on it, but always keep it in my pocket with nothing else.

I don't think it is bad enough to go return it.

However, at some point, once my Droid is beat up, can I go get a new one at Verizon because of this dust under the screen?

If the dust is strictly cosmetic, where it doesn't affect the screen performance, I would say no. There has be be a problem with the phone. Cosmetic issues are not covered.

It has been more that 30 days. It is more than cosmetic, it is over the viewable part of the screen!

This phone has a sweet display, and it should be considered defective if dust is obscuring the display, shouldn't it?

VZW had no problem replacing Storm's that had the dust problem....well past the 30 days I might add..

Go into the store and they will return it for you. Dust under the screen is a manufacturing defect and VZW is pretty good about that.

Didn't know this :)
Yes sir....a lot of Storms went back past the 30 days because of it.

Most customers had no problem getting it exchanged out.

I should mention there was a real problem with dust though. It wasn't a little speck.

Will probably let the phone get a bit more beat up before I exchange it for a new one. I love this phone!

I would say there is more than a speck of dust. There are probably 10-20 particles, visible to anyone if I pointed them out.

Besides the bit of dust, I also have one small scratch on the screen and a couple of dinks in the metal around the screen.

I have to say, the screen glass itself is really durable! No screen protector for 2 months and the screen looks like new!

ahhh : )

If your phone is that beat up already good luck with getting it exchanged.

They will see the condition of the phone (scratch and dings) and probably deny you.

When I say dings, i mean tiny pinpoint marks, maybe 2 of them. And one tiny scratch on the screen about 3mm long. I would say the phone is in pretty impeccable condition.

I have dust under the screen that comes and goes. Sometimes I will look and it will be there. Sometimes I look and it's gone. I noticed that it gets moved to the side of the screen sometimes. I also have two little dots on the glass itself I believe. they don't look like scratches but they seem to go all the way through the glass. I'm within the 30 days so do they have to exchange it no matter what?
