due for an upgrade

so im due for an upgrade on the 22ed and i would like to hear what phones seem to be better im torn between the samsung phone and the X what are your thoughts on both.

Are you in an area that will get LTE rather quickly (I'm lucky and am in one of the first cities)? If so, I'd say hang out off-contract and find out what is getting announced at CES in January.

If not, go to the stores and play with both phones. What are you wanting in the phone? This will help with recommendations. The DX has a larger screen, but also has a locked bootloader (which has made running ROMs/overclocking/rooting a bit harder and more complicated to do).
