I don't get the rice thing why not a heating pad to evaporate the moisture for 3 days.

Put in your oven at lowest temp 175 deg with door open. let sit in there for a couple of hours MINIMUM.

Rice absorbs moisture better than evaporating would do with a heat source. Heat can damage components and can create condensation making the thing worse off inside before it gets better.

If you ever go to a restaurant and see rice in the salt shaker its the same concept. Rice. Do it.

Well its probably a mute issue but I'd trust the mild heat .Open it up and let it warm dry for a day or so 3days was a little excessive.
As far as heat ....have you felt your battery lately??? LOL
If it was salt water buy some line and a hook.

Best of luck to JSWeathers be patient let dry fully

Thanks for the advise everybody! Should I try to take it apart more (remove screws)? or is that taking too much of a risk of not getting it back together.

That depend on your talents. But it would look bad if you file a claim...

Don't use rice!!

rice will leave a dust that can damage your phone..

I'd recommend using a water absorbent polymer bead like the ones you can buy HERE

I have washed cell phones. Heat over Rice any day.

put in the oven as i said. Lowest temp, (usually 175) keep door open.

I live in AZ. it's no different than leaving in your car during the day. DO THAT then..

Oh. and a friend of mine fixed her phone (Went into the pool) 3 weeks ago. She wouldn't put in the oven, but did put in her car for 8 hrs.. HER PHONE is WORKING>>>>>
